What to Expect from Your New Client Intake

This video or in-person appointment gathers the headlines of your life, and helps me understand why you're seeking services and what you hope to achieve together. We'll work our way into some potentially delicate topics, like current symptoms, mental and physical health history, family of origin, current relationships, sexuality, trauma history, and substance use. We'll then talk about your hopes for the future, your spirituality, your values, and your strengths. By the end of the appointment, I'll have a sense of our treatment plan and how we can measure progress in future sessions. This plan will help answer the important questions "Can you help me?" and "How do I know this is working?"

The intake provides a second opportunity to feel-out our therapeutic relationship. If I don't feel I'm the right professional for you, or if you feel uncomfortable working with me, I will absolutely help you pursue other options where you are more likely to achieve your goals.

Life happens! If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, no worries! Kindly let me know at least 48 hours in advance. Individuals who late-cancel or no-show their New Client Intake will be charged the full session fee. Thank you for respecting my time, and the scheduling needs of my existing clientele.
